Christ Cupboard provides food and used clothing (as well as a few household wares) to the people of Montgomery County. We are located at 206 E Coolbaugh street, adjacent to Houghton State Bank and across from State Farm Insurance. Our pantry ministry is headed by Lori Johnson and a great staff of volunteers. In 2019 food was provided for 1256 family visits representing 4012 individuals. The people served live in various states of poverty and often suffer from a variety of physical, mental or situational disabilities. Some are caught in the limbo of low paying jobs and don't qualify for any governmental assistance to meet the income gap. Some are recovering addicts or recent parolees looking for work. Some are sad and heart-breaking cases that seem insoluble.
Christ Cupboard is supported by our area churches, ministry organizations, civic organizations and businesses. Special thanks to Fareway and HyVee for their ongoing contributions. Christ Cupboard is a 501c(3) ministry operating under the umbrella of First Covenant Church of Red Oak, IA
